Chimborazo Summit - 2-Day Tour Description

Chimborazo is the highest mountain in Ecuador and measured from the center of the world it is the highest on the planet. For this reason, if you are an experienced mountaineer or an amateur, reaching the summit is an experience that should surely be marked off the list of peaks to be reached. To accomplish the strong challenge, we propose on the Chimborazo Summit tour, tourists are recommended to the necessary precautions such as being in good physical condition, being able to adapt to sudden changes in altitude and weather for which they will need adequate acclimatization and have good mountaineering equipment like good warm clothes and trekking shoes. Chimborazo Summit - 2-Day Tour Itinerary

1. Relax and enjoy the interesting mountain terrain as we embark on our three hour drive from Baños to the refuge.
2. From the wetlands of Abraspungo Valley to the arid lands and snow-peaked mountain top, the Chimborazo province is beautiful.
3. Look carefully and you may see a pack of wild Vicuña traversing the land.
4. Our first walk, approximately 30 minutes long, will be to the second refuge that stands at an altitude of 5000 meters (16404 feet).
5. We will spend the afternoon there, eating lunch and listening to safety and instruction briefings and taking part in interactive demonstrations of climbing techniques.
6. After dinner it’s time to relax and enjoy the wonders of nature and a sky full of stars!
7. At midnight our adventure continues!
8. Embrace the challenge of our 7-8 hour hike to the summit of Chimborazo, the highest point in Ecuador and the closest peak on Earth to the Sun.
9. We reverse our trek and return to the shelter, where we will have lunch and head back to Baños.
10. Climbers will certainly be proud of their accomplishments after this trip!
11. Departure: 10:00 on Day 1
12. Return: Approx. 17:00 on Day 2
