Banos, Ecuador has many characteristics that make it unique, one of them is that it is located under the incandescent mantle of the active Tungurahua volcano, thanks to which we have hot springs, mountainous trails and spectacular views. Located at 5.020 m, Tungurahua volcano is definitely one of the many attractions that you need to see if you visit Banos and especially if you are a lover of heights and adrenaline. Our hike and bike Tungurahua tour combine adventure activities that will delight those who seek excitement and adrenaline. On this tour you will test your resistance first by hiking to the refuge at 3.800 m and later by biking downhill on a rocky road, skidding and feeling a whirlwind of adrenaline. Hike & Bike Tungurahua - Full Day Tour Itinerary

1. The meeting point is at the Geotours office where we will test the helmets and we'll choose the bicycles.
2. On our private transport we will go to Pondoa, at the start of the trail to Tungurahua volcano, on a 40-minute ride along with our specialized guide.
3. Once on we arrive to the trail, we'll get prepared to the hike that will take 3 hours approximately. The hike will start at 2.800 m and end at 3.800 m.
4. Upon arriving to the refuge, we will rest and enjoy the scenery, while the guide prepares the box lunch.
5. Depending on the weather we'll ascend up to 4.000 m to look for lava stones from the last Tungurahua eruption of 2006.
6. We will descend to the starting point on a 1h30 trip, where we will get ready to take our bikes and descend to Baños on a ride downhill of 40 minutes approximately.
7. Departure: 08:30
8. Return: 16:00
