Our full-day trekking tour takes you on a scenic adventure through dramatic Andean landscapes. You'll hike down to the mystical turquoise lake, visit the Quilotoa indigenous community, enjoy delicious local cuisine, browse handmade crafts, and get a closer look at the rich Andean culture.

Legend says that Quilotoa once stood as tall as Chimborazo and Cotopaxi, but after a massive eruption, the volcano collapsed—leaving behind a natural wonder of incomparable beauty.

 08:30 – Departure from Baños

• Meet at the Geotours office.
• Scenic 3-hour drive through breathtaking Andean landscapes.

Stop at Toachi River Canyon

• Quick photo and stretch stop at this impressive canyon viewpoint.
• Then we continue on to the village of Quilotoa.

Arrival at Quilotoa Viewpoint

• Take in the stunning view of the turquoise crater lake – its color shifts with the light and clouds.
• Time to adjust to the altitude and take panoramic photos.

Hike down to the lake

• 40-minute descent to the lake shore.
• Option to rent a kayak (not included) or relax by the water.

Return hike to the rim

• 1-hour uphill hike, challenging due to the high altitude (3,900 m).
• Horseback ride to the top available (optional, extra cost).

Lunch

• Enjoy a freshly prepared traditional meal in the local community.

Return to Baños

• Private transfer back. Estimated arrival around 19:00.
