What are the holidays in Ecuador?
Ecuador is a multidiverse country, that is why you will find several dates in the year considered by the Government as holidays at the national level or in some cases at the local level depending on the city to which you want to travel.
Here we will inform you which are the most common holidays:
January 1 New Year
From February 28 to March 1 Carnival
April 15 Easter
May 1 Labor day
May 24 Battle of Pichincha
August 10 First Cry of Independence
October 9 Independence of Guayaquil
November 2 Day of the Dead
25th December Christmas day.
All these dates are national, however, there are internal holidays in some principal cities which are only celebrated locally.
In Ecuador, holidays which are on business days during the week are moved to days close to weekends, whether they are on Monday or Friday to prolong the days and that these are to promote tourism within the country.
